Most people want to improve their chest muscles to look big and powerful looking. However many inexperienced people can find it very hard, and will slave away doing the wrong exercises. Here are some of the most simple but effective exercises to build chest muscles:

Dumbbells
Dumbbells are excellent for building chest muscles as they allow you to perform a great range of movements, letting you exercise many of the different chest muscles. The best exercises for building chest muscles are flat and inclined dumbbell presses. This involves lying on the bench and starting with the dumbbells at your thighs. You then bring the dumbbells to the outside of your chest, raise them to the top, bring them down, and then repeat.

Barbell Bench Press
Although not as flexible as the dumbbells, this is the standard for any chest muscle workout. When you raise the barbell you work out your upper chest muscles, and when you lower it you work out your lower and outer chest muscles. Most people start off with the flat bench press, as this works both the upper and lower chest muscles equally.

Dips
Dips provide some variety to chest building workouts. They not only help to build the chest muscles, but also other muscles, such as the triceps. To focus more on the chest area, use a wider grip, lean forward and make sure to move your body all the way down. Once these become easy, you can add resistance using weight belts to make the exercise harder.

Try you incorporate 5-10 reps of each of these into your muscle building workouts. For each week you should try to either increase in reps or in weight. If you keep doing these chest building exercises, you will start to see results and have a great chest muscles in no time.
