Muscle Building Diet

If you want to gain muscle mass not having the right diet can severely limit the effect that you get from your workout. Eating the right food gives your muscles the growth food they need to get strong, and provides you with the energy to workout properly.

Protein is the main muscle building ingredient. Protein is what makes your muscles grow, so eat foods like meat, poultry, fish, eggs, dairy products and nuts.

You should also need to get enough calories to have the energy to work out. This doesn’t mean go out and eat junk food, you need healthy calories. Good calories mean that you are getting good nutritional value along with the right amount of energy that you need for your workout. You should eat lots of food that is high in carbs, for example fruit and vegetables, whole grains, beans, cereal and nuts. Just remember the more natural it is, the better it is for you.

Everyone needs Protein to build muscles, but the ratio of fats and carbs that you should include in your diet is determined by your metabolism type. If you have an active metabolism (so no matter how much you eat you don’t put on weight) then you need more energy, so eat more fats and carbs. On the other hand if your metabolism is slow then you should not increase your intake of fats and carbs.

It’s not only about what you eat, but about how you eat. You should try eat protein foods before training. Then if you eat your carbs and fats about an hour after training, they get used up by your muscles instead of turning into fat. You should also try to eat about 6 meals a day, which keeps your metabolism more active than a few small meals.
