I used to wonder why I didn’t achieve the increase in muscle mass that I wanted.  One day I looked around at other people training, and realised that a lot of them got bigger muscles than me with a lot less effort.  Later that year I moved to a new city, where I didn’t know anyone.  It was at this time that I stopped partying and drinking every week, and suddenly I started gaining muscle like crazy (well not that quickly, but significantly faster than I used to).

So the answer is that alcohol effects muscular tissue growing significantly, and lots of drinking will unquestionably cause a substantial harmful affect on your muscle mass increasing. Drinking is harmful to a greater extent than many people believe, and it is  essential that you realise how affects your advancement. It slows down protein absorption.

When you absorb protein amino group acids are connected to create proteins. Becoming intoxicated decelerates this by around 20%, and because your muscular tissue are comprised from protein, this creates a problem when trying to build your muscles.

It helps you store more fat.

Everyone knows that drinking water is important, but most people don’t realise just how much it will help with gaining muscle mass.

WHY? Well you are made up of around 80% water. Lean muscles are made up of 75% water, so of course they need lots of water to function correctly.
